Like a trip to the hairdresser compared to a STRIP operation
I started to lose my hair when I was 19. Ten years later, I was practically bald up top. I felt a tremendous loss as I had always liked having hair, styling it and the way I could change it depending on the time of year or my mood.In 2006, I decided to do something about it. I chose a strip operation at another clinic and 3,000 grafts were transplanted. Even though I was satisfied with the procedure and the number of grafts at the time, I wasn’t completely happy with the results. It looked unnatural at the front and the hair was still too thin. I wanted to do more, but didn’t want to go through another STRIP operation again. Even if I’m happy I did the procedure, it is an tough and long process that you don’t want to repeat in a hurry.
So I had already decided to do an FUE operation by the time I contacted the Ilter Clinic at the end of 2006. I chose them because I liked the way their refined method could produce the natural-looking results I really wanted.

After the local anesthetic does its job, all you have to do is relax.
After a couple of weeks, the scabs had disappeared and I saw the 1,000 grafts grow. The front looked really natural and the density was so much better. I appreciate how Dr Ilter positioned thinner hairs at the very front and how he created a natural hairline by avoiding straight lines.
I was very happy with my hair after the second operation, but wanted a little more density at the fringe. So two and a half years later, I added another 1,000 grafts to fill in the temples and thicken the front even more. And so far, the results look like they will be great! I can’t wait for the hair to grow in a couple of months so I can see the finished results. To feel that I have got my hair back is a fantastic experience!
Now three years after my first operation, and 5,000 grafts later, it seems odd to see old pictures of me. I hardly feel like the same person. Old friends I haven’t seen in 15 years and said that I almost look younger now than I did then. They can’t exactly put their finger on exactly why that is, but I know!
