My name is Demir Ilter and I am a certified doctor. I was born in Turkey, but have lived in Sweden most of my life.Together with my wife, Ásdís Arnbjörnsdóttir, we have three fantastic children and live in Täby in Stockholm, Sweden.
I have practiced medicine since graduating from medical school in 1984, and today find my work more exciting and rewarding than ever. Coming from a family of doctors practicing private medicine, it was a natural step for me to open my own clinic and practice the profession I am deeply passionate about!
My genuine interest in plastic surgery and microsurgery led me from the plastic surgery and thorax departments at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm to founding the Ilter Clinic together with my wife Ásdís in 2003.
My interest in hair transplantation can be traced back to an incident at the end of 2000 when a colleague of mine suffered a failed FUT/Strip operation. After a great deal of research into the subject, I found the far superior technique that was not practiced in Europe at the time. That method was FUE. Since then I have refined the FUE method to give my clients the best possible treatment and results.
My goal is to always have my clients’ needs and wishes as my chief concern and to satisfy them to the best possible extent. I have special training and competence in both FUT/Strip and FUE, but have chosen to only work developing FUE further.
I am convinced that FUE IM is the best technique for my clients.
I regularly attend international seminars and conferences. I have held courses, lectured and taken part in discussions at a number of international hair transplant conferences. I have even demonstrated my unique FUE IM method to my colleagues first hand at the European Society of Hair restoration Surgery congress in Madrid in 2008.
In addition I am a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), the European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ESHRS) and am licensed to practice medicine in a number of countries.
As a certified doctor in Sweden, I am a member of the Swedish Medical Association and am regulated by the National Board of Health and Welfare.
In my free time, I enjoy relaxing and traveling with my family, watching films and learning more about cinematography.
My hidden talent is I can calculate mathematical equations in my head faster than anyone I know. I think it is fantastic that I can drive hair transplantation in the right direction, and every satisfied client spurs me on toward continually improving and developing!

With a hair transplantation operation scheduled in Stockholm, Sweden on April 20th, he had to find a quick solution for the problem. Not being a person to sit around and wait as airports continued to close all over Europe, he decided to drive to his patient.
